Copay Insurance Plans

These are plans that can help you better budget for your family’s health care by having a set amount you will pay for services that are outlined in the policy that you have selected.

High Deductible Health Insurance


These plans allow you to save money on your premiums by having you assume responsibility for covering minor or routine out of pocket medical expenses if they occur. People who think they don’t really go to the doctor very often or think having an accident is very unlikely tend to like these plans. That is one of the reasons many people refer to them as catastrophic health insurance plans.

Short Term Health Plans (Temporary Health Plans)

These provide temporary coverage for people who are:

  • New graduates off their parent’s insurance
  • In between jobs
  • Waiting for benefits to begin at a new job
  • Early retirees waiting for Medicare
  • In need of a temporary coverage as an alternative to COBRA

The benefits of a temporary health insurance plan is that it allows you to have the flexibility to drop your coverage at anytime without facing a penalty; or to apply for another term of coverage.
Depending on your need, the coverage of these plans can range anywhere from one to twelve months.

Health Savings Account (aka. HSA) Plans

This plan combines lower-cost with high deductible insurance that has a tax-advantaged health savings account. They are for people that prefer having more control over how your health care dollars are spent.

How does an HSA work?

An HSA medical plan is a high deductible health plan that has a tax advantaged health savings account. The money that you put in your health savings account can be used to help pay the deductible of your health insurance plan along with other qualified medical expenses.

You also use the money to pay for those expenses that are not covered by your health insurance, like dental and vision care. If you are under the age 65 and you withdraw money from your HSA account for non qualified medical expenses you will be taxed at your income tax rate plus an additional 10% tax penalty.

As soon as you reach your calendar year deductible, your health insurance will pay all of the remaining covered expenses in accordance with the terms and conditions of your particular plan. Some plans will pay 100% of the covered expenses once you meet your calendar year deductible.
